Dr. Anji Buckner-Capone (she/her/hers) is a dedicated public health educator, advocate, scholar and practitioner whose work sits at the vital intersection of public health, education, and social justice. As the Acting Department Chair, former MPH and Undergraduate Program Coordinator, and long standing faculty member, her academic leadership empowers students pursuing degrees and careers in Public Health, Community Health Education, and Population Data Science. Beyond the department, she extends her institutional commitment as an active member of the 糖心Vlog , the WellBeing Collective and the Alumni Association.

Driven by a commitment in health equity and workforce development, Dr. Buckner-Capone bridges classroom instruction with hands-on practice. Her extensive practitioner experiences centered on the development, implementation, and evaluation of community based programs addressing critical societal needs in reproductive justice, youth development, personal and community health, and advocay.

As a scholar, Dr. Buckner-Capone explores the strengthening of the Public Health workforce pipeline and the intersection of health and education policies to improve population health.
